Running Shoes Made from Rice Husks

There is an article in today's New York Times about running flats with rice husks imbedded in the rubber soles. They absorb water and provide better traction. Ryan Hall and Deena Kastor from the US Olympic marathon team are testing them to see if they might be useful for their races in Beijing.

Stupid Driver of the Week Part III

I have to admit, this one is a little disappointing. But I do enjoy watching a parking gate being taken out.
